Hi Everyone, I’m Clark, a 12 year old male basset hound.  I’m really confused right now.  I have been with the same family since I was 8 weeks old and now find myself looking for a new one.  I was basically an outside dog and as I got older, I really didn’t like that.  It was cold or hot, sometimes it was raining and I was bored.   I  noted my displeasure by whining to come in and the neighbors started complaining so here I am!  Guess I should have kept my big mouth shut!

I’m really a good boy, I’m house trained and crate trained.  I don’t bark or whine when I’m inside, however.  My favorite things to do are go on walks and spend time with my family.  I’m certainly old enough to know not to destroy your house, too!

I like kids, dog, and even cats! After all these years in the yard, I really just want love and cuddles.  I need to catch up on those, you know!

So, whaddya think?  Can you be that special person I love unconditionally and love me back?

Please fill out an adoption application at www.bassethoundrescue.org and make a guy happy!

Clark is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on his vaccinations.  His adoption fee is $250.

(This adoption fee can be discounted by 50% for senior citizens. If you are 65 or older, ask about our Senior Program!)

Clark’s Foster Says: He gets along great with his foster sister Annabelle (10 yrs) and they even cuddle sometimes. His other foster sister, Lulu (2 yrs) he gets along with, but if she wants to play, he has no problem telling her that he’s not interested. I think he would get along fine with other older dogs. The three of them LOVE going on walks together. Absolutely no problems. He is a power sleeper (bedtime is around 7pm and he’ll sleep until 9am without getting up). We found out that Clark loves vegetables- baby carrots and broccoli to name a few. Here is a pic of him with his foster sisters anxiously awaiting a piece of cucumber after returning from a walk and a picture of him racked out on the couch after the walk and his cucumber treat. While he is 13, he’s got a lot of love and spunk. He will let you know he’s excited when you return by giving you a warm hound welcome 🙂
